Welcome to Blackpool Music School
Formed in 2006 by John Shaw & Jim Lomas, Blackpool Music School offers the community of Blackpool and the wider Fylde area the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument with minimal cost.
We offer affordable memberships for any age from 8 years upwards. We provide a variety of different music including keyboard, piano,saxophone, drums, ukulele, singing, music theory, guitar and many more. See our membership page for more details.
We endeavour to keep our costs minimal, which allows us to offer value-for-money memberships for;
- those on low incomes,
- those disabled,
- young people from disadvantaged backgrounds,
- children excluded from full-time education,
- and children who are unable to cope with busy classrooms.
Our friendly calm environments make it perfect for learning in an informal way, allowing members to embrace all the advantages that the therapy of music can give.
Our staff are a collection of talented, dedicated professional instructors and musicians who combine a love of music with a desire to help others who want to achieve their highest musical potential. That passion shows in all that we do.
Our tutors are highly qualified music professionals. They have different teaching styles but all are delivered in a very friendly way, making it the perfect place to learn an instrument. We offer group sessions and one-one sessions at the academy, as well as one-one sessions in your own home if you are disabled and unable to get to us.
Blackpool Music School is a registered charity with non profit status and there are no fees. We have a membership charge only, which funds the use of practice rooms. The use of instruments can be arranged by appointment and requires a small donation.
Our commercial arm of the organisation is Blackpool Music Academy CIC
