Workshops & Programmes

Non-Certificate programmes for all ages

Blackpool Music School offers group music sessions of an hour to socialise and develop musical skills. The Rock Star project aims to ignite young teenagers’ interest in music. Students can choose from keyboard, drums, guitar, or vocals. The project runs fortnightly for about an hour and is open to all musically-capable teenagers (approx. Grade 2 or over).

This fun event culminates in a live music performance showcasing the students’ skills. Teenagers of around Grade 2 ability are welcome to try out for the band.

It's a great confidence-building activity that will allow member's to meet like-minded people.

Family lessons offer a unique and enjoyable way for families to bond over music. These group lessons cater to families of up to five members, providing a supportive and interactive learning environment. If multiple members of your family wish to learn the same instrument, they can choose to learn a variety of instruments together, such as keyboard (up to 4 participants), guitar (up to 5 participants), or drums (up to 4 participants), and learn at their own pace.

The lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, encouraging family members to collaborate and create music as a team. Whether you're looking to start a new hobby, improve your skills, or simply spend quality time together, Blackpool Music School's family lessons provide a memorable and enriching experience for all ages.

Woman learning guitar

This is a group project that will consist of no more than three individuals.

Maxine Bradley, a 78-year-old asthma sufferer, found relief after learning to play the clarinet with the help of Blackpool Music School. The school’s founder plans to conduct research on the health benefits of wind instruments, using the Aerophone Go, an electric saxophone that can help strengthen lungs.

“My breathing is much better, even for an amateur, and as far as the trials are concerned, I’m all for that. It’s really helped me and if it helps other people then that is great.” - Maxine Bradley
